Home For A Rest...

Crazy how time flies isn't it? When it seems like I've just begun to understand the depth of Indian culture, it's time to pack my bags and head home. It was the trip of a lifetime and the sun rose every day with the promise of a new adventure, whether it's falling off an elephant playing polo, dealing with the local authorities, or experimenting with how to get the most bhang out of my pakoras!

While I'm still processing all my newfound knowledge (culinary and beyond) I can say that after this trip, fenugreek and mustard oil have found a new home in my kitchen, so begin your search for them now if you want to cook along with David Rocco's Dolce India later this year.

When I arrived home I was greeted by the loving arms of my family and the warm, sweet smell of a simple tomato sauce wafting through the kitchen. It's these simple pleasures in life that I live for, and couldn't believe how long I managed without them!

A HUGE thanks goes out to the ITC Hotel Group for making me feel welcome and at home in every corner of India and making this production a true delight. The staff at each hotel routinely went the extra mile for myself and the crew. I can't thank you enough, especially for making my daughter's belated birthday cakes that managed to survive a 20 hour flight… I'm still confused about that detail, there must have been some ancient Indian magic at work!

Another big thanks to everyone who has extended their support for the new series and kept an open mind about this adventure - it's a big departure I know, but I promise it will not disappoint! If you would like more frequent updates, you can follow me on Facebook and Twitter!

Grazie Mille!
